Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Macro iQ ("Macro iQ", "we", "us") governing your use of the Macro iQ mobile application and related services (together, the "App"). By creating an account or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Health Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (and the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the App. The App is intended for generally healthy adults. It is not intended for people with, or in recovery from, an eating disorder, and it should not be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, or alongside a medical condition or medication, without the supervision of a physician. 3. License and Apple terms

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own non-commercial purposes. All content and software in the App, including text, graphics, logos, and icons, belong to Macro iQ or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws.

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store: these Terms are between you and Macro iQ only, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App and is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

4. Subscriptions

  • Some features require a paid subscription purchased through your Apple ID. The subscription name, duration, and price are shown before you buy.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device's App Store subscription settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies.

5. Your account

You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and accept responsibility for activity under your account. You can delete your account from within the App; deletion removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Acceptable use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems;
  • copy, scrape, reverse-engineer, or resell the App or its content;
  • use the App to promote, glamorize, or pursue dangerously low levels of eating; or
  • upload content that is unlawful or infringes the rights of others.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you submit to the App, such as food logs, photos, and messages. You grant us the rights needed to host and process that content solely to operate, provide, and improve the App as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. AI features

The App includes features powered by artificial intelligence, including the "Mac" chat coach, food recognition from photos, and computed calorie and macronutrient targets. AI output is provided "as is": it may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading, and it is not medical, nutritional, or professional advice. You are solely responsible for verifying any AI-generated output — including nutrition and allergen information — before relying on it. Content you submit to AI features is processed by third-party AI providers as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Health disclaimer

The App is a general-wellness product. It does not provide medical advice and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Consult a physician before changing your diet or exercise habits, and never disregard professional medical advice because of anything in the App. The full Health Disclaimer is part of these Terms.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

THE APP AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY ESTIMATE OR RECOMMENDATION WILL BE ACCURATE OR ACHIEVE ANY PARTICULAR RESULT.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MACRO iQ WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY INJURY, HEALTH OUTCOME, OR LOSS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP OR RELIANCE ON ITS CONTENT. YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING ANY DIET OR EXERCISE DECISIONS BASED ON IT, IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Macro iQ and its officers, employees, and agents from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the App.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Macro iQ is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree to first contact us at dev@macroiqapp.com to try to resolve any dispute informally before pursuing other remedies.

14. Changes, termination, and contact

We may update these Terms from time to time; the current version, with its effective date, will always be available at this page, and continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 7, 10, 11, and 12) survive. Questions: dev@macroiqapp.com.
